Do you think this is a good rig for all around crankbait fishing?
I’m thinking about getting a 7′ moderate action medium power Daiwa S-Bass trigger rod made for crankin paired with a Shimano Citica reel. If anyone has any other suggestions, please tell me, I’d just like to keep it around this price range. Also, I’m thinking 15 lb fluoro.
Lets start out with the rod. The rod sounds good because you want that long rod for good quick hook sets and casting distance and you don’t want that heavy power to loose sensitivity. You could even go with a MH but whatever you like. As for Daiwa never had one. St.Croix mojo bass is a nice rod and so is the Duckett Micro Magic crankbaits which is made for crankbaits. It also has microguides and i’ve heard only positive things about them. The reel I have used and yes it is a perfect reel for crankbaits. So you can eaither stay with the Daiwa or try one of the companies I mentioned. Hope this helps and happy fishin:)
