Which rod would pair best with my Penn FRC 6000 reel?
I recently purchased a Penn FRC 6000 series Reel from a local sporting good store that has a max capacity for Braided line of 50 LB (which I will be using). With money not really being an option up to about $200, what would be the best Rod to combo this reel? (Looking for a Rod that can hold a capacity of close to 20-40 or 20-50 LB as well). I will be mainly using this for Pier fishing in deep waters. I currently have an Ugly Stik which is a 20 LB max
nobody can tell you which rod to get because they dont know what you are fishing for and they dont know what size and type of bait you are using. but most imprtantly, nobody has your hands, your arms, your eyes. i might make a suggestion that you hate. because its all about what you like and need. the ratings are printed on just about every rod. so find one thats the right size, hold it, swing it back and forth, look down the eyelets, bend the tip over in your other hand. pick a rod the same way all the rest of us pick a rod. i would never buy a rod off the internet until i had held one in my hands. all the names and numbers and descriptions in the world dont mean squat if it doesnt feel good in your hands.
