what is the difference between non idodized sea salt and instant ocean for salt water for hermit crabs?
Looking to set up an aquarium for hermit crabs and I have some non idodized sea salt, made from evaporated ocean water. is that okay to use instead of instant ocean?
No human grade sea or table salts should be used for hermies. Anti caking agents are normally added to table salts . There are substances in it that are not hermie friendly. An ocean/sea salt has all the ions and elements that hermies need to remain healthy. They do spend all their life around the ocean/sea due to how it is vital to them for their survival.
