Penn Are Saltwater Reel

Penn Jigmaster 500L reel?

im planning on going surf fishing or going out on a pier to fish (saltwater). is this reel a good choice? would a spinning reel be better? any suggestions? (price range 50-70)

I’d definitely suggest a spinning reel designed for surf casting. It will give you a lot more range on your casts. I would also suggest that you go to Walmart to pick up one of their rod and reel combinations. They’re actually quality set ups for very reasonable prices. Check out the link below.
