Baitcasting reel problem?
I have a Shakespeare SKP 4000 baitcasting reel. I don’t know how it happened, but I turn the handle and the spool doesn’t turn. In fiddling around with the star shaped knob, the drag, I think, and the little knob next to it on the side, who knows what’s going on now. To make matters worse I completely unscrewed the little knob and now I’ve forgotten which way the little spring goes in before screwing the knob back on: it’s like a little pyramid. Which end goes in first, the broader base of the spring or the smaller top of the pyramid? Any help appreciated. Thank you. Kim
When it comes to those level winds aka baitcastin’ reels best not mess with em’ because they can one be a big headache, ya’ know as in easy ta’ take apart but, the complete opposite when putttin’ them back ta’gether (am sure your aware of that now)… Found some schematics (link) that may make it a’ bit easier. Hope it helps somewhat <);-3 Shakespeare skp 4000 (PDF Format so ya' can blow it up for a' better visual view): http://schematics.planetseafishing.com/downloads/shakespeare/multiplier/baitcast-series/skp4000.pdf
