Why does my chain keep skipping and clicking and clanking when i climb up hills?
When I climb up hills my chain keeps clicking and sometimes skips gears. I have adjusted the derailleur to the best of my abilities. I have Shimano 2300 components. It is brand new. I got the bike not even a week ago.
(My riding style for hills is standing up and using the highest gear i can pedal at about 80 rpm.)
Make sure you are not cross chaining. If you have a tripple use the first 4 gears with the small chaing ring and the last 3 with the largest chain ring. Your rear derailluer needs fine tuned if that is not the case.
