Fixed gear conversion, anyone that can help?
I have a standard 21 speed Shimano. (From the mid 90′s, roughly). I want to convert it to a fixie but am currently stuck on how to remove the rear gearing and main cranks. My big concern is how I remove the gearing from the hub, separate the gears and replace the single gear back onto the bike while ensuring the flywheel still works and the chain is still properly aligned. The other issue is if there is anything special to remove the two outside cranks and just leaving the center one to be used.
If you can help it would be greatly appreciated. :]
(And I know a lot of people hate on fixies but I already have a mountian bike and a proper road bike so i decided to mix it up some more.)
