What line should i use on my Penn GTO 230 Rodd/ Reel combo if im going for blues?
Conventional for blues, stripers, and fluke. What line and what leader?
Blues have sharp teeth !! If your gonna be bait fishing then I would recommend that you use a steel leader suitable for the size fish that your targeting. If you will be surf casting with plugs then I like to use a Braided line because of the amazing sensitivity. You can actually feel the plug rolling in the surf !! 16 to 20 # test should do. Some guys like the flourocarbon leaders in calmer waters, and rightly so as their basically invisible, but it’s very expensive and the blues will tear it up on you.
