What does the ratio 4:6:1 on my Penn 850 SSm reel mean?
I’ve seen the ratio 4:1 etc before and that means that for every one rotation of the handle the bail will spin 4 times. Not sure what the 4:6:1 is though?
That 4:6:1 is a typo. It should read 4.6:1 instead. Here’s the spec from Penn’s site and you could confirm it yourself: http://pennreels.com/spin_spinfisherSSM_index.html
The reel will spin 4.6 times per turn of the handle.
