Changing my Bike from a 21 speed to a 24 speed?
I’ve replaced my old setup and completely replaced all my spokes of my rim to now include a freehub with an 8-gear Shimano cassette. The parts are completely assembled and the wheel lines up into the bike frame just fine but I screwed it on and tried peddling but it won’t budge! The tire is now pushed against the LEFT-side of the frame close to the crank area. Are my spokes not put on right and should they be warped differently? Or, is my new freehub not compatible with my bike frame? I have an “ALUbike” aluminum bike just to let you know
The rear wheel needs to be dished properly so it in the center of the frame. The drive side spokes are shorter and are angled as much as the left side. Check out utube there are a bunch of tutorials on wheel building.
