I’m buying a Stradic 5000 reel and saw a combo w/ a Daiwa Sealine Series for $140. Is that a good rod?

My Daiwa Light & Tough rocks, the Steez rod is the ultimate drool tool, and the S-series have a great following among bass fisherman.
I can only assume that all of the Daiwa rods are built with great quality, since I love my Light & Tough.
It sounds like a good deal to me, but 9′ would be too much for me in lake, river, and reservoir settings. Off a coast or pier it might be just right.
