I caught a Bass in 55,5cm/21,5″ long and 17,5cm/6,5″ at its widest how much would it weigh?
It was caught near Dundee, South Africa. I didn’t have a scale so I marked it off on my rod and measured it when I got back. Please help.
If anyone has caught a fish of similar size tell me + its weight. This one might of been a pregnat female.

First, congratulations on the nice fish. Second, what kind of bass was it? Largemouth? Smallmouth? Stripper? Or some other kind of bass?
Anyway, you said it “might” be a pregnant female so I am guessing its chubby but not very fat yet. 6.5″ is healthy but it doesn’t sound that thick yet. It doesn’t matter if it is a small mouth, a large mouth or a stripper, it will be under 7 pounds.
If it was a largemouth with a thick tail and a stomach showing, it will be around 6 pounds. If the bass was fat and round (shaped like an American football) with a bloated stomach that’s hanging, you’ll be looking at something around 8 pounds. Since you said it “might be pregnant”, that around 6 pounds figure sounds more applicable.
If it was a smallmouth, it will weigh about 1/4 pound less than a largemouth.
If it was a stripper, I would say its about 5 1/4 pounds.
But whatever it is, its a nice fish.
