are bike chains of different manufacturers the same?
Obviously there are different types of chains and those are used for different purposes, but what I want to know is whether or not there is a quality difference between different manufacturers. I’m interested in a colored chain but it doesnt look like Shimano makes colored chains.
now days most chains are shimano based and work with shimano systems. naturally you need to use the correct chain for the amount of speeds you have, but wipperman and others make chains that work with shimano systems.
the only exception is campy. if you are running campy, dont try other chains. they kind of work, but not totally right like a campy chain. campy tends to be very picky about what works and what doesnt.
