What is the light green colored stuff on the substrate in my saltwater fish tank?
What is the light green colored stuff on the substrate in my saltwater fish tank? There is green hair algae in there, but I noticed today that there is some stuff on the substrate that is a very light green. What would this be? Is it good or bad?
It is most likely a type of algae! Do you have any type of cleaning crew in there? Snails and hermit crabs do a good job of eating algae and keeping other items (such as food leftovers). There are a few snails that will burrow into the substrate and help prevent anything from growing on the surface as well as help prevent possible issues under the surface!
