What would be better? A Freshwater Reel with a heavier line and rod in use with both saltwater and freshwater, or a Saltwater reel with the right line and rod for saltwater in use with freshwater and saltwater ?
best for both would be a medium action salt water set. can be used in both waters.. fresh water stuff will corrode from the salt- my dad had a mitchell 300 that did. what a problem- i believe he replaced the gears…
the salt gear is made from corrosion resistant metal, sprayed with an inhibitor, or sealed.
