Really good quality rod/reel combo?
I hvae lived in Florida for 4 yrs and I’m starting to get really serious about my fishing. At first, I went down to Wal-Mart and purchased a $20 Shakespeare Tiger spinning combo and has lasted this long. My question is, what is a very good quality rod/reel combo I can get about $100 (more or less is OK); Penn, Abu Garcia, Daiwa, Shimano, any of these or suggestions?
My favorite is still my old Penn 704 skirted reel and a 10ft ugly stick, but before anyone can really answer your question we need more information on where your fishing. (Charter boat, pier, beach or trolling) and also about the kind of fish your going for. Bottom fish( small or large) shark, bone fish etc. The rod and reel I mentioned above work well from the beach in the surf or a pier.
