College student…I need some help?
I was wondering, should I get a part time job at school? I just transferred to a different campus that is MUCH bigger than the one I use to go to, and it’s SO difficult to meet people up here. I don’t drink or party, and since Penn State is a huge party school, it’s makes my situation even tougher. Also, I feel a little depressed because I am drifting apart from my friends, since they have all turned into party animals.I am also trying to recover from getting screwed by a guy I’ve been madly in love with for 14 months.
So would getting a job possibly be a solution to my problems?The only problem is that I’m scared that it may distract from my school, and I don’t want that…my grades are pretty much all I have going for me in my shitty life right now.
A part time job – not that many hours – may be good for you. Were you going to one of the branch campuses and then transferring in? You may be suffering the freshmen blues, even though you are not a freshman and some of your friends may be away from home for the first time and that is why they are partying.
Seriously, try to focus on school. The economy is bad and the job market is going to be tough for the next couple of years.
Here’s an idea, let school distract you from your friends. Good luck and hang in there.
