Does it really matter what cassette lockring I get?
I am currently looking into buying a Shimano 7 speed cassette. I haven’t been able to find a cheap 7 speed lockring that is also Shimano. I did however find a SRAM lockring for cheap. I was wondering if it would fit on the Shimano cassette? (the cassette has a 12t front cog and the SRAM lockring says it fits 12t front cogs) THANKS!
Yes SRAM cassettes and lock rings are interchangeable, they even use the same tool.
